Learning from others

About the trips

Bus trips to different regions are a great way to see what other farmers are doing to deal with the opportunities and challenges of farming today. Here’s a list of the trips that have occurred under the TopSoils program:

  • 2016 - visited Nigel Kerin, Norm and Pip Smith, and Martin Royds (with a surprise dinner guest of Peter Andrews).

  • 2019 - visited the Mulloon Institute via Charles Massey and Charlie Maslin.

  • 2021 - farmers travelled to the North East and then headed to the North West of Victoria.

  • 2022 - farmers travelled from North East Victoria into NSW and the Monaro Tablelands.

  • 2023 - farmers travelled to the South West, into South Australia and back down from Mildura.
